First time for this kind of review…….

Those that know me, in the “real” world, know that I love making mead.  I enjoy experimenting with all kinds of flavor combinations and will even attempt batches that can only truly be described as esoteric.

I bottle every batch that I make, and doing so requires a frequent replenishment of supplies.  These supplies range from bottles, to caps, to racking equipment, to sugars and nutrients.

Predominantly, I purchase these from Breski Beverage.

Occasionally, a specific item may not be available at Breski’s, and I will purchase it through an online seller, but this is rare.

Even some the items I use in the creation process, such as yeast, malts, fruit purees, spices, and different varieties of wood on which to age specific batches, I purchase from Breski Beverage.

I have been frequenting this business for years, and have been very satisfied to this point.

Not long ago, I visited Breski’s to pick up some supplies, and noticed a bit of a change.  With new laws in place affecting beer distributors, Breski’s was changing the way that they sold their beer.  Singles, four-packs, six-packs, and twelve-packs were now available, which was quite the departure from the case-only option a short time ago.  I picked up the supplies I needed, browsed around briefly, and found a delicious four pack to go with the empty bottles I was purchasing.  The state of the distributor was that of slightly disorganized transition, as the new laws had just been instated.  But, I was assured by an employee, that they were working very hard to change things around, and that exciting updates were coming.

Yesterday, I found myself in need of an additional case of bottles for my avocado honey traditional mead.  Without considering any other options, I made my way to Breski Beverage after work.

I follow Breski’s on Facebook and Untappd, and recently have seen many more updates regarding in stock beers and specials.  I also have seen Breski’s post intriguing beers on their menus for growler and crowler fills.  So, for this restocking trip, I was particularly excited.

When I was assured that exciting changes were coming, I admit, I was a bit dubious.  However this trip found me very pleased with my experience.  My brewing supplies were a bit more challenging to locate, but I was pointed to what I needed promptly upon request.  Everyone working seemed overly busy and a bit more task focused than customer focused, but, to give the business the benefit of the doubt, I was one of very few patrons in the distributor.

After selecting my brewing supplies, I browsed the improved, full displays of craft beer, appreciated the clean displays, easy to discern pricing breakouts, and excellent selection.  I found a few semi-rare gems that I added to my future purchase list, and selected an Ever Grain Joose Juicy six-pack and a South County Dark Thread four-pack.

On my way to pay for my purchases, I stopped by the new growler/crowler counter and browsed the menus displayed above the taps.  The tap area was clean, well designed, and shone with notes of neon and chrome.  I was approached by a different employee and requested a crolwer fill of SOLE beer that I’d never heard of before.    The service was exacting, courteous, and professional.

I have had excellent experiences over the years with Breski Beverage providing my mead making supplies.  I will continue to go their for these needs and recommend that any home brewers do the same.  As an added bonus, the selection of craft beers, appealing layout, clean environment, and growler and crowler fill station, make Breski Beverage a must visit location for beer enthusiasts.

I know I’ll keep going back.

Humbly yours,

J
