Stop. Listen.
What do you hear?
Do you hear the chirping of birds?
Do you hear the wind in the trees?
Do you hear nothing at all?
Do any of these sounds fill you with a sense of anger or stress?
Do you tense up at the sound of rain falling upon the ground?
Do you grit your teeth when you hear the chirping of crickets or hear skittering of squirrels?
In nature there are so few, if any sounds that agitate or vex us.
But so many sounds and words that come from our mouths cause aggression and tension.
Why do we choose to fill our beautiful world with such sadness and negativity?
Before you choose the next sounds that emerge from your lips……
Stop, and listen.

These words are simple, profound and true but they are not so simple to do. It’s a new day. I’m inspired to make a choice today and listen.
