One day, some day,
I’ll be on my way.
One day, that day,
I’ll have what I want.
Some day, future day,
I will know who I am.
Some time, some place,
I’ll get what I want.
That time, that point,
I will be what I wish.
That spot, that second,
I will be what I dreamed.
My vision farsighted,
and gaze, towards the horizon.
My yearning focused on
a distant compromising.
The bend of thought,
was so, far away, while,
the path forward,
was right in front of me.
A longing for that
person I’m yet not.
A confidence, that
I’ll get what’s sought.
With all of our thoughts,
and minds, far seeking,
We have failed,
to watch our own footing.
In all of our persistence,
and speculating,
there is a disregard
for daily sustaining.
Projecting ourselves into
the future,
forces us to ignore all of the
daily, important, nurture.
Humbly yours,
J
