Trust and sleep

I wanted to fall asleep with you,

each and every night,

with your nectar on my lips,

your perfume in my nose,

and my hand around your waist.

You only wanted to lie,

while you lay next to me,

until you could find lips

you thought were sweeter,

A scent you believed more fragrant,

And a trash can wide enough to hold

the heart that you ripped out.
