At a certain point, we become aware that our lives have a certain trajectory. Some believe that it has been preset since the day we are born. We may choose to fight against it all we want, but that’s wastefully pointless. It’s best to accept whatever course that you are on.
Life is like a river, it has a current, and flows in a particular direction. You can swim side to side within it, and experience it from different aspects within the current. However, if you try to swim against the current, the best result is massive fatigue and minimal progress. If you propel yourself forward with your choice of swimming stroke, you only reach the end of the river that much faster. There is another option as well, to swim to the shore, clamber up the bank, and try to find yourself a different river, or path. But, most likely, you will only find yourself lost in the woods, wandering aimlessly, and struggling to survive.
The best way to experience this river of life, is to find yourself a raft or inner tube, some refreshing libations and a few delicious snacks, and to float with the current.
It also couldn’t hurt to smile as much as possible, and to soak in the sun.
