One side, other side, no side.

There is no middle ground with happiness.

You either have it or you don’t.

You either feel it, or it’s not there at all.

It’s a sensation, feeling, and encompassing emotion, that is either present, or not.

You can’t be kind of happy.

You can’t chose ambivalence in bliss.

There isn’t an option that allows you to select “I’m meh, happy-ish?”

You either breathe it or live a lie.

You either strive for it or die.

You create the want in yourself for it,

Or you foster the total lack for it.

It’s either the sparkle,

or deadness in your eye.

It’s looking at every stranger with a smile,

or waving goodbye.

Its hearing the music above the din,

And finding honor amidst the sin.

But it won’t be handled lightly,

and considered casually and slightly.

There is no neutrality in happiness.

There is no neutrality in happiness.

There is no neutrality in happiness.

We choose it or we don’t.  We will have it or we won’t.

Humbly yours,

J
