4 New Reviews

My first few reviews are from recent experience at the Brass Rail Deli. To be truthful, only two of the four are from the affectionately monikered “The Rail”. The remainder were from home.

Free Will’s C.O.B – This one was categorized as a coffee oatmeal brown.  To be truthful the coffee was the predominant factor in this followed by a subtle sweet oatmeal sweetness and rounded out by a caramel lightish body. Nice and tasty and a perfect accompaniment to a little bit of solitude and some writing.

Helltown Idle Hands Double IPA – I’ve had many an ipa and double ipa in my time but this was a hop nasty breath of fresh air. Sugary sweet grapefruit taste with a well-rounded citrus and mildly floral tinted scent to it. The after affects were a heftily hop laden belch and a profound sense of euphoria. This was a perfect transition from solace to socialization. Entirely too quaffable and without noticing one could very quickly be a bit inebriated.

New Belgium Fat Tire – Apparently and oldie and a goodie. Yet only a very recent addition to the decidedly limited selection of PA’s offerings. My bargain case resulted from a trip to state line liquors in maryland. Awesome place for a quick trip to find some non-local brews. Nice cocoa amber that would appeal to any and every man, craft beer aficionado to the yuengling drinker just transitioning from mass produced brews.

Upright 4 – Very light low ABV saison style brew that harkens wild grasses and wild yeast and a spicy delciousness. I could envision drinking this with a nice pulled pork sandwich with this or a mild cheese with a jalapeño mustard and some pumpernickel bread.
