Awakening the Chrysalis

As one floats through their daily grind/existence (whichever you prefer) there is a beckoning toward an outwardness of the soul.  If indeed the recognition of the soul is admissible. Most attribute this pull as a desire for release for the confines of the norm. Some feel that life as it exists is sufficient.  Apparently these later individuals populate the planet somewhere.  I’ve yet to encounter someone who is completely content in the moment that I experience them.  There is always someone else who occupies their thoughts. Or perhaps, some other creature they would rather be.  Maybe it is some other being they would rather sacrifice themselves to, and thus their attention is diverted.  Regardless of the determination, their exists a propensity to flee ones normality.

The presence of beer allows many to become someone else entirely.  This of course is applicable along the spectrum of alterants. This could include drugs, music, religion, imagination, sex, sugar, attention, movies, athletics, writing, and innumerable other personal invectives.  Please insert your desired stimulus into the mix, it belongs there, I’m abundantly confident.  Whatever the charge that floods your electrodes it is attempting to awaken the chrysalis that wishes only to remain dormant.  We are sedentary creatures in our depths.  We crave complacency and comfort to cuckold our capitulant corpus.  Our end desire is though…

Magestic and free, unfettered and unburdened. The weight of self untethered from your own heart.  Channeling this with a feverish rush through an Em scale tremolo run. Downing a delicious shot of whiskey and chasing with a Brooklyn Black Chocolate.  Finding my other self every day whence my seeking drives me beyond my cage.  Being that being that lays dormant to the conformist coercions.

Our minds were made grander than the cells we’ve reduced them to, Our hearts more accepting than we’ve allowed them to, and our souls more deserving than those we’ve sold them to.
